How Can Your Major Make the World a Better Place?

Being an Forest engineering can help to change the world in so many ways! Can be relationated with forest, fauna, flora, sustentability, forestry companies, and a lot more of examples. In my case is relationated with the climate change, situation than day by day is destroying our world and our country. So, to contribute on better solution to the enminent chaos I thing that as a profesional I would like to do an investigation of the drought (that is related to rescuing / preserving the species so that they can exist in a much more inhospitable future), sustainability of the forests and social relations that benefit both the community and the environment. I think in a lot of ideas that I would like to do, because I see my self and my parners traying to help to do a better world to all the organism that live in this planet. And the major something that complete me as a person to contribute the world´s benefit is to be perseverant and have the hope to thing that every single change that we do for the forest and the envieroment, allow us to be closer to a healthier planet.

Why did i choose this career?

      When I was a child I wanted to be an artist, but with the pass of time I understood that I see this more like a hobby than something to dedicate my entirely life. As a teenager I understood that I want something related with environment and nature, so i wanna be a veterinarian, but when I told this to a real veterinarian (that was on my neighbourhood) she told me that in this profession the things are no so pretty , the money is not enough and you need to decide when is necessary to kill an animal..so that change my preference. After that, I see all the  universities  career related and worried about environment like geology, marine biology and forest engineery. And my final decision was geology! just kidding was forest  engineery LOL, because its have all that I wanted and everybody gives me wonders opinion about this career :D. Now my experience has been most of the time positive! as all the careers have difficult topic...

Who is the person/expert on my field that I admire?

I admire Suzane Simard a lot!  She grew up in Canadian forests as a descendent of loggers becoming a forest ecology. She is a teacher of forest ecology at the University of British Columbia. Suzane has spent the last four decades, with experiments and rigorous studies, understanding how trees talk each other. She has discovered that they are part of a community that supports each other, sharing resources with parents and strangers who are in need. With his work, I change the way I see forest.  I like here since I see his "TED Talk", where she explain the comunication between trees.  I also admire her for all the dedication in her research for years on the communication between trees and other equally interesting related to the forests of California, also that she is a fun and anecdotal person that makes her an inspiring person in the field of science. My autobiography

Hello there! Now is coming my presentation, so to start.. my name is Francisca Borcoski, I Am 20 years old, I born and live in Chile and today I am studding forest ingeneering.  About my education, I started in kinder garden called "Jardin cascanueces" and after that I was in 2 different schools and I finish it when I was 18 years old. I took the PTU the same year and the next year , 2019 I started my career university at the university "Universidad de Chile". I live in Santiago with my parents and my little sister, also 2 cats and 1 dog.  My hobbies are very varied, but in short I like paint, drawing, make some crafts with plasticine, porcelain, knit, etc; , also I like to learn how to play musical instrument (now I´m trying with the guitar 😁) and others artistics things. Since my childhood I thought about the importance of the nature and how I would like to study something related to that (the reason why I chose this career). I like a lot of things, some examples...
